My favourite yarns

What is your favourite yarn? Or maybe you have several favourites? You are allowed ;) 

I have a few - which I come back to again and again. And they are all wool yarn. What is important to me when I pick a yarn is the content, the country of origin, what is it like to knit with. These are all subjects I can talk about for hours and will get back to you on this in a later blog in the coming weeks. 

Today though, I will be showing you my favourites. 

Favourite 1: Finull from Rauma

Finull is a type of yarn produced by the Norwegian company Rauma Garn. It is made from 100% Norwegian wool, and is known for its high quality and durability.

The wool used to make Finull comes from Norwegian sheep breeds, which are known for their hardiness and ability to withstand cold and wet weather. The wool is then processed and spun in Norway to create a soft, yet sturdy yarn that is perfect for a wide range of knitting and crochet projects.

Finull yarn comes in a range of colors, and in addition to its quality and versatility, it's also environmentally friendly. Rauma Garn is committed to sustainable practices, and works to minimize its environmental impact throughout the production process.

Favourite 2: Supersoft Knoll (= Supersoft from Holst and Mjuk from Charmis.no)

Supersoft is a brand of yarn produced by the Knoll Yarns company. As its name suggests, Supersoft is known for its softness and gentle touch, making it a popular choice for creating cozy and comfortable garments and accessories. 

This yarn is not sold as a knitting yarn as Knoll yarn, but is sold under various brands like Supersoft from Holst and Mjuk from Charmis.no

Supersoft is made from 100 % pure new wool  from Australia and South America, and is carefully selected for its softness and high quality.

Favourite 3: Sølje from Hillesvåg 

Sølje is a brand of yarn produced by the Norwegian company Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk. It is a 100 % Norwegian lambswool yarn and again, it's known for its softness, durability, and beautiful colors.

The wool comes from local farmers who practice sustainable and ethical farming methods. The wool is then processed and spun in Norway using traditional techniques, which gives the yarn its unique character and quality.

Sølje yarn comes in a range of stunning colors, from deep, rich shades to lighter, more pastel hues. The yarn is dyed using natural dyes, which gives it a unique and subtle variation in color.
